An umbrella that charges your phone and enhances signals apart from blocking the sun and rain!

Vodaphone has invented the new Booster Brolly that blocks the sun and rain and also allows you to charge your  phone and enhance the signals.
This umbrella has a solar panel sewed into its top that entraps the sunlight and produces electric current that is stored in the hidden battery present in its handle. This energy can then be used to power the LED light attached with the umbrella or to charge a mobile device with the help of a usb charger.
It uses a low power signal repeater and a high gain antenna to enhance the signal effect by creating a high density signal cloud over the user's head.
Thus Booster Brolly performs additional functions besides blocking the sun and rain. It is a perfect partner for you, during your long trips and expeditions!

Sensastep helps you walking easily!

Today, even in this world of medical improvement  and innovation, there are people with sensory and motor disabilities that can not walk naturally. Such people  find a lot difficulty in walking as they have to watch their footsteps while they walk.
The newly developed sensastep watches your footsteps as you walk, thus helping you to walk  easily and naturally.
Sensastep consists of an insole foam pad and an ankle strap  with a signal transmitter. There is a receiver that receives signals and is hung with the ear of the user. The insole pad senses as the foot  touches the ground and generates signal that are transmitted though the ankle transmitter to the ear receiver.  The ear receiver produces vibrations that stimulate the cochlear nerve. Thus the brains knows which part of the foot touches the ground. This all helps the user to sense his or her footsteps and helps walking smoothly and quite naturally.

Wireless charging through laptop!

Intel has conceived a new idea of wireless charging of cell phone with the help of a laptop. This idea has  been demonstrated on an Acer laptop. Now, there is no  need of carrying charging cable or mats with you! The prototype ultrabook sets the phone on charging when the phone is placed near it.
There is a pair of transmitter, one in the laptop and the other in the phone.  The charging takes place through electromagnetic induction. The laptop's transmitter produces a varying magnetic field that induces a current in the transmitter of the phone. This charges the phone.
Charging starts as soon as the phone is placed near the laptop with an audio "ping" and a desktop notification of charging.

Touch Screen Buttons; an amazing technology!

The microfluid technology, from Tactus Technology has enabled the developers to develop touch screen buttons that appear or recede on demand.
This is the world's first tactile system that enables the plain touch screen to develop dynamic, physical buttons that appear on triggering the touch screen.

The buttons appear as per the app and enables the users to work more efficiently. The layer of the touch screen deforms to create specific stacks of variable thickness that act as buttons. Thus, the buttons on your device can now appear or disappear on your demand!

A bandage that promotes healing!

The researchers have developed a new silicon based bandage that not only protects the wounds but also lets them to heal quickly by favoring quick and efficient migration of the cells to the damage site.
The bandage is grooved and has the ability to speed up healing. The grooves act as pathways for the fibroblasts to reach the site of injury. Fibroblasts are the repair cells that are required for the healing process. In a natural process, these cells migrate themselves to the site of injury and initiate the healing process, but the shape of wound greatly affects their migration. Sometimes the shape of the wound discourages migration and the cells may accumulate to form scarring. This bandage has special grooves that act as a pathway for these fibroblasts and enable them to reach the site, quickly. Thus it promotes healing and reduces the healing time.

Self-Guiding Bullet

A team at Sandia National Laboratories, led by Larry Shipers, has designed a new kind of 50-caliber bullet that is dart like in shape. It is a non-spinning, computer aided bullet that has an ability to increase the accuracy by as much as 90%.
The bullet has an optical sensor at its tip and four tiny motorized fins that are able to change the angle. As a shooter determines the target by a laser dot, the optical sensor locks it down. The bullet also has an eight bit processor operated by a battery. This processor uses a control logarithm to steer the bullet to adjust its path. The processor works by 30 times a second to increase the accuracy.
A standard firearm with a smooth-bore barrel can eliminate the spinning and produce the required result by shooting this bullet. it can increase the accuracy, save money and reduce collateral damage.

Chemical Chip-Controlling the Muscles Chemically

A recently developed chemical chip has the ability to regulate the delivery of neurotransmitters. The chip could be planted in the body to control the muscles of a specific region, chemically.
The chip is supported by ion transistors that are able to transport, both, negative and positive ions together with bio-molecules. The chip is developed by Doctoral student Klas Tybrandt by combining the both type of transistors into complementary circuits just ans an ordinary silicon resistor. This gives rise to an integrated chip that works with common signaling substances, such as acetylcholine, to send signals to malfunctioning muscle synapses.

Double Sided Smartphone

You would,  definitely, have seen the concept of a transparent smartphone that can perform a lot of functions in any position and from any side. Can you believe, this technology can be found in the real world? Well, lets have a view of this amazing smartphone, that has the ability to change the future.
The NTT DOCOMO, in conjunction  with Fujitsu, has developed a new double sided Smart phone with a 320 x 240 transparent, double sided display. The transparent display allows user to touch and access the smartphone from both sides. The team [plans to enlarge the display, for a better view, in future.

Vulture-Unmanned Aircraft

Vulture is the most recent invention of the world. This unmanned aircraft, developed by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), has the ability to stay in the air for log periods such as that of 5 years. The aircraft will be known as Vulture, due to its Persistent Pseudo-satellite capability. So, the aircraft can fly over an area for years of time, performing the tasks of communication or analysis.
This project is carried out in the supervision of Daniel Newman. The idea is to develop a pseudo-satellite aircraft that has the ability to hover over the earth in stratosphere. Satellites have a specific orbital mechanism that enable these to stay in space for a long period of time, without any aid. Aircraft does not possess this capability, so it has to be powered up regularly in order to stay in air. This aircraft will use a phenomenon partially similar to that of a satellite, to help itself stay above the ground for such a long duration.
The project is facing some problems of supplying the power supply to the aircraft and the deterioration of the materials due to stratospheric effect. These problems are expected to be solved in near future.

Needle-Free Injections

Does the sight of a doctor, on a round, coming towards your bed make you scared? If this is so, the possible reason of your fear is the needle of the injection, that is painful to bear. Thanks to this new invention that eliminates the need of inserting a needle into the skin for the delivery of a drug.
This needle free Drug Injector has been developed by a team at MIT that uses the Lorentz-Force actuator to deliver the drug. There is a powerful magnet that is surrounded by a coil of wire. The magnet is attached to a piston, inside the drug  ampoule. When the current is applied to the coil, the magnet pushes the piston that creates an enormous amount of pressure to create a jet of drug that breaches the skin. Thus, the drug is delivered without the use of a needle.
The MIT researches have also developed a current modifier that helps to adjust the pressure of the jet, enabling high pressure and low pressure jets; high pressure jet that breaches the skin, while the low pressure jet that helps the drug get absorbed into the skin. The level of dose can be adjusted. So the injector can be used for thin skin of a child as well as thick skin of an adult.

Space Age Rotatory Garden

NASA had, long ago, proposed the idea of an artificial hydroponic garden that survives on artificial source of light. The idea was rejected due to the presence of flaws in it. But, now the recently invented Green wheel rotatory hydroponic garden revives NASA's rejected concept to help stable a garden in completely artificial environment. The idea has been revived by DesignLibero.
The Green wheel has a circular design that is able to support upto 8 feet tall trees. The trees are held up from the roots by a wheel that rotates around a single LED that acts a source of light for the whole garden. Thus, it helps conserve the energy. The trees pass through the nutrient laden reservoir at the base of the wheel once in an hour. The whole garden is stabilized nicely and the scientists are able to grow a number of useful trees and plants by this technique. The technique is not only suitable for space ships but can also be applied to achieve specific goals during laboratory experiments.

Open the door with a touch stroke of your smartphone!

Recently, a new app, named unikey, has  been developed that allows  the users to open or lock the doors with the help of their smartphone. This app works on all the three major smartphones. It communicates with the paired deadbolt unikey lock via Bluetooth. As the user approaches the door, the signals are picked up by the lock, priming it to opes as the user touches its surface. The door can also be locked from a distance.
This app also allows the users to share the keys virtually just as a  text message and so, anyone with the relative key can open the door. Now, your smartphone will be the key of the door of your home.

Robo Fish-Detecting the polution

Marine Pollution is the burning question of the day. Around the world, scientists are in constant efforts to let it down.  Where there is a need to take measures to control it, there is also a need for it to be detected and measured so that its source and hazards may be known.
Recently, the BMT group has invented a device that is based upon the hydro-dynamic properties and shape of a fish so that it can travel freely in water. This 1.5 meter long robo-fish has an array of micro-sensors that can detect even minute levels of pollution and then, it  sends the records back to the shore. Thus, it provides a constant track of pollution level in a vast area of the ocean while most harbors only take water sample, once a month. It relays the information about the  contamination, constantly, back to the shore for real time updates.

Warp Drive-Travelling to the space

Scientists have been discovering new ways of travelling in space on order to reach farther planets and even attempting to approach the galaxies. Warp travelling is a new theory that refers to such a travelling in space, wherein one would propel space around a ship, rather than power the ship through the space. This is, in fact, an application of the Einstein's theory of relativity. In this way, one can travel in the space, by creating a loophole in the universe that can allow us to to travel at warp speeds.
With the help of this technique, interstellar travel would be possible. Although, even the brightest minds of today are ignoring this possibility, yet the techniques makes us believe that interstellar travel would be feasible in near future.
The hazards of this technique seems to be great. As already discussed, this technique exploits a technical loophole in the universe. Thus, every time one attempts a warp travel in space, he will lead to the formation of a loophole, thereby destroying everything behind it. Or, possibly, one attempting a warp travel will obstruct its pathways back to the earth. Thus, the most intriguing aspect of this travelling is, whether one will have to leave everything before travelling to the outer space, because there will be no path back towards the earth. Anyone wishing to meet the aliens and the outer space will have to leave his people and his world!

Super-thin Waterproof Cell Phone Skin

Most waterproof cell phone covers are  thick, so that these can not be used in conjunction with any other casing. Moreover, these skins made cell phones look ugly. But the new Cell Marine Waterproof Skin is incredibly thin so that it can be used in conjunction with any other mobile cover and it does not even destroys the look of your handsome cell phone.
The Cell Marine is only 0.25 mm thick and remains waterproof down to 32 feet. A clear acrylic panel covers the display of the cell phone so that there is no hesitation in using the mobile with this cover on.
This case is offered by Gooma, only in Japan.

Computer Assisted Memory

People have to keep their photos and videos on hard drives or on virtual drives for the fear of loosing them and be conscious of the birthdays and anniversaries of their loved ones for the fear of forgetting them and getting ashamed. Can there be a computer assisted memory, that can help you keep all the things, you want, right in front of you, so that you do not have the trouble of remembering them? This is all possible with the help of an external system, on which everything can be saved without the risk of loosing it. This archival system will help anybody keep his or her beautiful moments in his or her mind like videos, so that he or she can enjoy those moments anytime, like someone enjoys a recorder video. With this startling invention, even death will not be the end. Memories and thoughts of every dead person can be accessed and no scientist, philosopher or any genius would truly be lost!

Love/Anti-Love Pill

Love is a chemical state and can be controlled as all other chemical states can be done. Larry Young, an American scientist of the Emory University, is working under the theory and has got noticeable success in his research. His research has shown that by altering the amount of certain chemical in an organism's body can trigger life long mating. For example, a person can be made to love his or her partner and can even be made, not to another person. Therefore, it will be easy to control one's feelings about his or her love mate.
Larry Young's research on prairie voles has brought great advancements. By injecting various levels of Oxytocin hormone into the female prairie, young was able to make the animal, to immediately drop her current lifelong mate to the nearest male. Oxytocin has the ability to produce similar effects in humans.
Therefore, we can predict, that in near future, there may be some pills that can alter the feelings of love/anti-love in people that can lead to the changing of the world. Now, anyone will be able to avoid breakup by enhancing his or her partner's love for himself or herself.

Flame Drills-A new sci-fi movie concept or a new invention??

A pair of Flame Drills has recently been developed by a man, named Jared Potter. These drills operate at temperatures of 3200-7200 and have the ability to burn through almost anything. According to Potter, the idea is not for any negative purposes but for boring through the earth itself. These flame drill have the ability to bore through the earth, without even having to touch the rock itself. Thus, it eliminates the needs for drill bits and other heavy equipment.
This new invention can change the whole world. With the help of this gigantic invention, we can now bore deep into the earth's crust where a sea of molten rocks lies waiting to power the flying cars of the future. Digging the earth will now simply be similar to taping a well, while it will look pretty hardcore!
Can this be an idea of super villainy?
The idea of using these flame drill can bring destruction to the world. Even if we assume that Potter is not hiding a black cobra mask and his intentions are solely for the purpose of well being of mankind, will the boring of the earth up to the core and the disclosure of the molten rocks to the open atmosphere, not produce any hazardous situations? Earthquakes, molten magma and volcanoes are the simplest think we can imagine of while dealing with this gigantic device. Anything, interfering with the vents, can bring about a change in the internal pressure of the earth leading to sudden eruption or volcanoes. Everything, we can imagine of, while dealing with these flame drills is worth bothering. We will have to wait and see, how the world takes this new invention.

Mouse Trap Inspired IV System

Engineering students at Rice University, developed a semi-automatic  IV drip system for children that is able to regulate the fluid flow in dehydration treatment. The machine helps take load off the staff and save lives. The system is inexpensive, easy to use and can operate without electricity.
The machine has a lever, to which the IV bag is attached. A counterweight is shifted by notches on the arm, with each notch position altering the fluid flow by 50 ml. As the counterweight moves it alters the fluid flow until the required amount has been reached and then a mousetrap like clamp activates and it clutches the flow tube into 'V' position, thus occluding the fluid flow.
The device has been designed for underdeveloped countries where 1.5 million children die of dehydration. The device will be tested in Africa, this summer.

Take out the heart and then plant it back to remove the tumor!

A cardiac auto-transplant is a technique in which heart of a person, with tumor growing in inaccessible areas of the heart, is taken out. During the process, the body is kept alive with the help of a cardiopulmonary bypass. The heart is operated outside the body, quite a lot easier than that inside the body. It is an extreme rare procedure because higher risk of the death of heart.
The first cardiac auto-transplant was carried out in 1990s. And since then, it has been carried out only 50 times. Recently another successful operation was carried out by doctors leading to the more build up of trust upon the technique.

New Retina Displays, now in Macbooks!!

Apple seems to introduce new Retina Display screens in Macbooks. This display features a sharper and clearer view of pictures, texts and applications on Apple's computers. This new technology will add price to Apple's products and will also cost its customers. This technology could cost $100 more than the current amount Apple spends on its products. These displays are currently available from the suppliers and Apple is planning to introduce these in its other products too. This will be a remarkable step, ahead, in the field of display.

NPD DisplaySearch Senior Analyst Richard Shim says that the super high resolution 13.3 inch and 15.4-inch are already available. According to him, the screens would have the following specifications:

  • 15.4-inch: 2,880 by 1,800 resolution. That's 220 pixels per inch (PPI). By comparison, the current 15.4-inch MacBook Pro has a 1,440 by 900 pixel display and a PPI of 110.
  • 13.3-inch: 2,560 by 1,600 resolution with a PPI of 227. By comparison, the current 13.3-inch MacBook Air is 1,440 by 900 pixels, and has PPI of 127. (Cnet News)

The display screen has already been introduced into some devices as the new Ipad.
